An unexpected mix of classical composition and dark production, helped along by collaborator The Haxan Cloak, the Brooklyn singer is the world's newest diva. Nailing the heartfelt delivery and big moments, there is something Shirley Bassey about it, although given a thoroughly modern makeover. Although the lyrics make for uncomfortable listening, there is nothing hard about hearing the brass, strings and pounding drum combination. Giving Anohni a run for her money, serpentwithfeet is simply stunning. - SJ
